Looking for free salsa or bachata in NYC this summer? You’re in the right place! Finding fun and free things to do has become a personal passion, and there’s nothing quite like dancing outside with strangers!
Thanks to community organizers, free salsa and bachata events are spread across the city from April through October. Here’s everything that’s confirmed for 2026. Dates are updated as new information becomes available. Check each event organizer’s Instagram for weather-related cancellations.

Whether you’re learning your first basic step or showing off your spins, Sunset Salsa on Thursday nights at Pier 76 is the perfect way to spend a summer night.

Salsa by the Water at Domino Park

- Time: Free lessons at 6:15 PM; live music and dancing at 7:15 PM

Wind down the summer salsa season at this series in Williamsburg. With lessons and dancing right along the waterfront, Salsa by the Water delivers one of the most beautiful backdrops for practicing your steps. Nieves Dance Studio has run this series for years and welcomes all skill levels. Of all the locations, this one is my favorite because the outdoor fountain section, which has been converted into a dance floor, changes color continuously.
La mayorรญa de estos eventos son organizados y frecuentados por la comunidad latina de Nueva York. Pa’ La Calle, Salsa After Work y Salsa Social en Washington Square Park en particular tienen una energรญa muy autรฉntica. Todos son bienvenidos sin importar su nivel de baile.
Most of these events are organized by and for NYC’s Latin community. Pa’ La Calle, Salsa After Work, and Washington Square Park’s Salsa Social in particular have a genuinely authentic energy. All are welcome regardless of dance level.
