Following the completion of construction at 368 Third Avenue, I was invited to Vu New York to photograph the property, amenities and view.
Coming back to this neighborhood was a literal walk down memory lane since it’s a few blocks away from where I went to college. The transformation of the area is absolutely astonishing, and CLEAN! When I was in college everything was under construction, or old. Now, we’re seeing the fruits of all those years of labor. On one hand it’s pretty cool, but on the other it’s a bit sad how different things look now. That being said, you bet I snapped a bunch of pictures of my alma mater when I was on the 34th floor rooftop!
As a full-time content creator and professional photographer, I’m starting to see the intricate network of how brands in virtually every industry partner with PR agencies to help get the word out about their product or service. It’s quite intriguing! I’ve been invited to photograph plenty of other places around New York City, like Edge NYC and Summit One, but they are observatories open to the public. It makes sense why their PR teams would want content all over social media: drive traffic and ticket sales.
For private real estate developers I’m curious what their objective is. Like other parts of the creator economy, I’m assuming it’s to mine free content. That being said, perhaps there’s also a possibility of catching the eye potential buyers. Most likely not though lol.
