If you’re searching for luxury hotels in Savannah, GA that offer both elevated comfort and local character, Andaz Savannah delivers the perfect mix. Situated next to Ellis Square in the city’s walkable historic district, this boutique property blends Southern charm with a modern aesthetic. I stayed here during a partnership and found it to be an ideal home base for exploring the city’s architecture, cuisine, and rich cultural scene.

Andaz, which means “personal style” in Hindi, positions itself as a brand that celebrates individuality and cultural connection. Each property is designed to reflect the spirit of its surroundings, and the culinary philosophy follows suit, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and working with regional chefs to craft menus with an unexpected twist. It’s a boutique-inspired approach within the larger Hyatt portfolio, and Andaz hotels aim to create a space where travelers can authentically experience the destination in their own way.
My stay in the Andaz Suite felt more like a stylish apartment than a standard hotel room. The suite includes a plush king-sized Hyatt Grand Bed, a dedicated seating area with a sleeper sofa, a wet bar, and an oversized bathroom featuring a luxurious soaking tub.
The real highlight is the private balcony overlooking Ellis Square. Golden hour from this view was absolutely unforgettable, a peaceful moment that elevated the entire experience. For travelers exploring luxury hotels in Savannah GA, this suite offers both comfort and a sense of place.
Andaz Savannah’s on-site restaurant, 22 Square, serves up refined Southern cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. I had dinner here during my stay, and every bite reflected a thoughtful twist on classic regional flavors. The restaurant’s warm ambiance made it a standout part of the hotel’s offering, reinforcing why this property is among the best luxury hotels Savannah, GA has to offer.
One of the best perks of staying at Andaz Savannah is its prime location. You’re just steps away from top attractions like City Market, River Street, and Broughton Street, making it incredibly easy to explore the historic district on foot. Despite being in the center of it all, the hotel still feels like a peaceful retreat, thanks to its boutique vibe and thoughtful design.
I visited during the off-season in February, which meant fewer crowds and a quieter atmosphere. However, I was told that by March, especially St. Patrick’s Day, this area becomes one of the liveliest spots in the city. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a solo escape, or a weekend with friends, this hotel offers the perfect base to enjoy the city without needing a car.
While Andaz Savannah is marketed as a luxury hotel in Savannah, and it certainly has the location and upscale branding to match, I’ll be honest: it felt more mid-range to me. The service was decent, and the atmosphere was stylish, but some of the finishes and experiences didn’t quite reach the level I’d expect from a luxury property. That said, it still offers great value if you’re booking on points or looking for a hotel that balances design, location, and convenience.
