In the middle of moving my life from one apartment to another, I had the opportunity to photograph my former co-worker, Amie, for her bridal shower at the Rum Runner in Seabright, NJ. One of the first motivations to start my own business as an NYC photographer and quit my job was the fact that I had so much support from my former colleagues. Never underestimate the power of your current network! More often than naught, there’s a lot of client potential in there.
Your Clients Are Your Existing Network
When I resigned, Amie was one of my biggest advocates for wanting to help me get photography clients. With her own bridal shower happening soon after my final day in the corporate world, I was able to see her shortly after my last day and photograph her special day leading up to her wedding day.
The Rum Runner Recap
The bridal shower took place in the private banquet room of the Rum Runner and comfortably fit about 30 attendees. The venue has a rustic beachfront vibe with floor-to-ceiling windows that opened to allow the sun and breeze to circulate through. The in-house catered food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was so friendly and accomodating!
A Room Filled With Happiness and Laughter
I am so grateful for any opportunities that come my way now that I run my own business. It really means a lot to me that people entrust me enough to be in the same with them and capture all these moments for them to look back on. So happy with how the final gallery came out!
