As a photographer specializing in personal branding photoshoots, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Elise Mark, an opera singer looking to launch her new website with fresh pictures.
A client of my friend Cindy, The Hustling Heart, one of my favorite people to work with, we all met on a beautiful autumn morning. The original plan was to do the photoshoot in front of Lincoln Center since it’s the leading performing arts center in the world and provides as a stunning backdrop.
However, as we were starting the photoshoot (first thing in the morning to avoid crowds, no less) we were immediately harassed by a security guard. Apparently, a permit is required in order to take “professional pictures” at Lincoln Center. After doing some internet sleuthing, it seems that this started back in the ’70s due to the neighborhood residents suing Lincoln Center when it first opened. Since then, it’s become a city requirement that used to pertain to the use of tripods but seems like it’s anything except a point-and-shoot scenario now.
We were still able to do most of the photoshoot at Lincoln Center, taking advantage of the modern and sleek architecture to create some striking images. Afterward, we walked over to Bethesda Terrace, which is also a famous spot for acoustics. I thought would also best represent Elise’s personal brand as an opera singer!
Prior to photoshoot day, the three of us had a mood board prepared for production to ensure a smooth process. Throughout the photoshoot, I worked with Elise to find the right poses and expressions to capture. Elise was a pleasure to work with because she was confident and poised in front of the camera, making my job as a photographer much easier!
The end result was a set of beautiful and professional images that perfectly captured the essence of Elise’s personal brand as an opera singer. These images will be invaluable for years to come as she continues to build her career and promote herself online on her website and social media.
If you’re someone looking to strengthen your personal brand, I highly recommend hiring a photographer and investing in a professional photoshoot. It’s a small investment that can pay off big time in the long run. If you’re ready to start investing in yourself hit me up so we can discuss it!
