I recently had the opportunity to capture another surprise proposal that unfolded at The Ludlow Hotel, a chic luxury boutique haven nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s trendy Lower East Side.
On an unseasonably warm November day, when autumn took a back seat and spring vibes took center stage, a magical love story was about to unfold. The weather wasn’t the only thing heating up; the anticipation of a proposal filled the air.
This client initially reached out to me only a few days before he was going to pop the question. I seem to be getting more last-minute outreaches lately, but it’s always great when calendars align since being a part of a special moment between partners is truly an honor. I think that’s such a cheesy thing to say, but in this instance it’s sincere.
According to my client, he found me by Googling ‘New York City photographers’ and my website popped up. All the SEO efforts I invested in my website are starting to pay off. Like my other last-minute client proposal, we didn’t have time to do a walkthrough, but this time it didn’t matter since the couple wasn’t going to be together, instead he would be waiting for her, so I had time to coordinate staging with my client before his girlfriend arrived.
Our canvas for this proposal was the Ludlow Hotel’s penthouse, complete with a massive terrace offering panoramic views from lower Manhattan to Hudson Yards during golden hour and sunset. Lowkey, I was tyring to get content for myself, but in order to remain professional I had to give my full attention to my client while I was there.
In the heart of the Lower East Side, I had the privilege of freezing a moment in time that transcended seasons. A warm November day, a spontaneous Google search, and a last-minute proposal – all came together in a serendipitous moment. Here’s to capturing more lasting memories!
